Christmas Day

So, this year Christmas was a little different for lots of people. Rebeka had Christmas in a strange place and we had to help give her that Christmas at the last minute. I think we did a good job. Beka did enjoy it so i guess that is what matters in the end. Anyways here are some pictures of Beka enjoying her Christmas morning! Oh, we got a very nice GPS system from my Dad... I will definitely use that..lol

Beka first waking up.. notice Santa came in picture but she wanted a picture first! lol
Her ladybug pillow!
She kept opening presents faster then I could take pictures
so I made her stop so I could take one... and this is the look I get!
Jeremy going though his stocking!
This is Beka trying to open her Pet shop box..notice the saw in hand! lol
After Christmas morning Beka went to enjoy her father's family with Amber and Amber's family. So me and Jeremy went to Marie's mother's house and watched Jennifer and Mrs Soriez open gifts. Mrs. Soriez got us some nice soup bowls with P's on them and some measuring cups. Then we had some wonderful food...sorry I don't know what it is called it is a Mexican food...chicken kind of thing over rice. Then we had beans, corn, green beans and bread. It was yummy like always.
The rest of the day we spent just relaxing...what else could you want or do but relax...lol!

Texas and Christmas Eve

Well, we finally made it to Texas. We ended up not being able to leave Wednesday so did not leave until Thursday and had to make the trip in one day. I was scared about the trip so much that I made myself sicked to my stomach. So, the first few hours...or half of the trip was terrible. About Mississippi I was finally able to calm it enough and enjoy the rest of the trip. But, it was so nice to be back in Texas and enjoy the time with the family. Glad to be home this year.

CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas Eve we went to my Brother's family house and had our Christmas together. We had some yummy Mexican food made by Kim and Adam. It was yummy and good. It was also a good time to visit and just talk to my family. Had a blast with Parker...and man, has he grown up since last time I have was here. He is not a little baby anymore...but a cute handsome little toddler. lol.. I enjoy watching him and Beka play together and open presents. We got some very nice stuff. Jeremy got a flashlight from Jennifer and I got a candle from her. Then we got From Adam, Kim, & Parker was a German translator book. Awesome we will need that! Then from Andrea we got a beautiful "Home of the Brave" picture! So we had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of the fun!

My whole side of the family from Left to Right:
Andrea (sis), Parker (nephew), Dad, Kim (Sis in-law), Marie (step-mom)
Adam (Bro), Jeremy (husband), and ME!!!

The after the party we came back to my dad's house and put Beka to bed. Once she was in bed, we got to do a little Santa this year. Since we did not know until last minute she was staying with us we did not have that much but we did run and found one thing she ask Santa for so she had big gift from Santa. So we had fun doing that. Well, Jeremy did I was struggling emotional with everything. But, it was fun!

All I want for Christmas Is.....

Okay I know it is not even Thanksgiving yet but I thought sure why not make a list. It been years since I have actually made a list so I thought I would do it. I remember has a kid sitting down with the Sears Wish Book pickin out what I wanted... it is a little different now I got the whole World Wide Web to look at and my stuff is alittle more higher. So my brother and his family do this so I though why not! lol

Anyways here is my want wish list:
1) Kitchen Aide Mixer
2) GPS system - but I need to make sure it does internationally!
3) A Sewing Machine -- I really want to learn and I can't if I dont have one!
4) This cook book is awesome! The food at Disney is so yummy I would love to make Jeremy some Strawberry Soup!
5) This is the most important thing on our LIST (I guess I should had made it #1 but I doubt anyone would get it for us). We need a new car to take to Germany with us because we will not be able to take our Pontiac ... but it is so hard to buy a car... someone want to buy this for us... they can have our car we have now! lol

Turning it off!

So today at church we had a wonderful speaker who talked about Facebook! Yes, facebook while at church. The talk was more over turning off the television and logging off facebook. Are we not doing service work because we don't have the time because we are using our time online and in front of the television. So all day today I been thinking about how I spend my time and what I could be doing instead of facebooking all day!

So here is my goal starting Tomorrow Monday the 17th. That when Beka is awake I will not be online or turn the television on. That includes turning the tv on to get her out of my hair. I plan to use my days to clean my house, do more crafts and learning activities with Beka, crafts, baking, and cooking. Sounds good these are all things that I should have been doing all alone but instead I sit on the couch and stay on facebook. So I think that is a good goal. I will be online after she goes to bed I feel like that should be my time and time for me. So I will just start with when Beka is awake which is normal 9am to about 9pm. So wish me luck and I hope this works out and I find myself enjoying doing more.

PS Tomorrow I am going shopping in Savannah with a friend so I will succeed tomorrow! YAY! But on that note I am beginning to plan and get things together for the HOMECOMING!!!

Camp Out!

Well, this week a couple of friends from the ward whose husband are also deployed decided to do a lady and kids camp out. While we have all been camping before it was a first for all of us to do it without husbands. I was kinda excited but nervous knowing it was going to be 3 ladies and 5 kids, but it was wonderful. It was so nice to be outside and away from the computer and cell phones and just relax. I was proud of us and of me. I did alot of stuff I have not done alone or even since girls camp like 11 years ago. My husband wonder if I would be able to set up a tent alone and not starve, or even sleep at night...since I am scared of the dark. I have to say I am proud to know that I can set up our tent and take it down all alone. That we were able to start a fire and keep it going to cook food and also put it out. So I am proud to say we survived and had a lot of fun. The only negative was that early in the morning it got really cold but we were not prepare with trick blankets, jackets or pants. So in the morning we were kinda or really cold. So next time we will bring more clothes. But, other then that it was fun and hope to do it again.

Here are some pictures from the trip!

Shopping

Okay so I been trying to learn ways to shapes and save money. Yeah I know I should have learned how to do it a long time ago. So I decide a couple of months ago that I was going to learn to use coupons. Well, I sign up to get the Sunday paper here and signed up to coupons.com and a couple of other websites. Then I joined Kroger and picked though their online coupons. So I went to print coupons and ended up only printing about 3 pages because I did not realized it was going to be only 2 coupons per page and ended up running out of paper and ink. So, I need groceries, so I headed out anyways... Here I went to Kroger. So I ended up getting lots of stuff that I did not need but hey had a coupon for. So after spending forever in the store going to pages of the list I printed off of online coupons, and the coupons I cut out. I was quiet upset because I did not end up saving and spend more then I consider was in my budget. So knowing me I really wanted to give up on the whole thing.

Well, then 2 weeks ago I took Beka to Wal-Mart and had no coupons, nothing at all. Well, I ended up spending WAY over my budget. Now, I know it is Wal-mart and I did get more then food, which is why I don't think I should shop there cause I have to go check out the DVDs, and this and that! lol! You all know what I mean! So anyways I spend WAY too much... my jaw hit the ground. But, another reason it was so much I stocked up... I got 2-4 items of everything too so I figure I did what was best. But, I could not spend that much again!
So, now right before pay day again! Yes I said before pay day- I hate that every one in this town gets pay at the same time cause it makes every store in town filled with people, long lines, and empty shelves. So I decide that I am going to save money each check so I can go the day before pay day that way I don't have a reason to get out and deal with all those people! lol
So anyways I decide that I need some stuff, mostly the main stuff: bread, eggs, milk. The other thing I notice is I would decide I wanted something but then I did not have one item I needed. So I decide another trip to the store, but this time I was going to try to be smart about it. So I made a list of things I want to make some fancy and then some stuff for my "I want to be lazy" days. Then I looked to see what I have and just made a list of what I needed. So then I looked though the coupons I been collecting for the last month and only cut out the stuff I used but I only bought with me the stuff I needed and save the others for next time. I ended up spending WAY less then I thought I would! I am proud of myself. As a matter of fact I saved $20.00 just on coupons! I know $20 might not sound like much but hey it is enough to go out to eat...which made me decide to go treat myself with Taco Bell..lol!

So, I guess I have learn for me the best way to save money is:
1) coupons
2) Make a list off of what I want to make
3) Shop at the commissary

** PS These are how I saved money... I can't promise the same results for you.... but I hope to continue to learn ways to save****

CRAZY

So, sorry I have not written in a while there has been so much going on and just never taken the time to stop and write.

Well Last week I drove to Florida and got my half sister, Beka, who is 5. She is staying with us (or should I say me since Jeremy is still gone) for about 2 months. So things has been super busy for me. I had to take my extra room which was filled with junk and empty the room out and then set it up and make it safe and conformable for a child. So now that is done I thought I might set down but still don't really have the time.

Now I am busy trying to do her home school work, cooking meals, and trying to find cheap things to do and get us out of the house. Plus find educational stuff is a bonus. So that is all I have been up to. We have painted with apples, played with sidewalk chalk, put together and got fish for our 55 gallon fish tank, went shopping, sent Jeremy gifts and read books. Sounds like fun hum?!

On other news we are down to less then 90 days till Jeremy is home! Wow, I remember when he was gone for 90 days and now we have been away (other then that 2 weeks) for 282 I guess 90 days don't seem like that much. He is doing good just wishing the Army will make up their mind about what they are going to do and when they are going to send him home. So we really don't know what is going on.
